Tomorrow we will be releasing horrific video of cruelty inflicted upon a terrified fox. This latest deeply disturbing example of “trail hunting” occurred during a meet of the Coniston Foxhounds on Saturday 8th November, and was filmed using a drone by local sabs, Lake District Hunt Saboteurs.

I agree about how terribly so many animals are treated in the world, but is it also necessary to attack the often biologically determined characteristics of prominent people out of anger at their attitudes to animals?
Though it’s not the same level of moral wrong, abusing people for prominent characteristics (like hair or teeth etc.) is also a lesser form of hurting those who haven’t done anything to us, and even if there’s a level of sometimes justifiable anger at the attitudes of celebrities, casually indulging prejudices might not be the most ethical or persuasive way to change opinions.
Most people have been raised in a society which considers animal suffering funny in some contexts, and as absolutely wrong as this is, being compassionate to everyone rather than expressing personal anger might be a more effective way of creating more societal concern for animals.
This isn’t meant to be rude to you and thank you for your passion in raising awareness otherwise. 🙂

The thing is, I’m using words and if that hurts them, so it is. But my words never killed animals in the same way that their actions do and on that basis I feel justified in using both pejorative and denigrating language. On another note, I think you’ve led a sheltered life and spent too much time in a philosophical coma.
