Fanny’s life on a dog meat farm was an awful existence that no dog should have to endure. This precious little pup was all alone in her cage, struggling to walk around on the cold wire floors. Her suffering ignored, she was scared, lonely and unloved.
Thanks to the support of generous animal lovers, last month our team rescued Fanny along with nearly 200 other dogs. They’re now safe at our temporary shelter in Canada or with one of our partner organizations, getting the care and attention that they lacked for so long.
But this is only the beginning of their road to recovery, and we still need your help.
Fanny melted in our arms when we freed her from her prison. Now, our staff and volunteers can’t stop picking her up, giving her kisses and cuddling her. And she’s loving every minute of it.
But not all of the rescued dogs are so well-adjusted, and some will need a lot of help learning to trust humans after experiencing cruelty and neglect. Veterinary treatment, enrichment and therapy, along with a lot of love and patience, will be critical to help them transition to their new lives. Once they’re ready, the search for their forever homes will begin.
